Transcript:

The next issue is the issue of management during the period of the elections. During these last 30 years, it is unprecedented that giving an extension means a one hour extension. Every single ministers in the country, during every single election, when throngs of people show up during the late afternoon, at the ballot boxes, they would extend for two hours and in fact the extension would be extended twice. This is the first time ever, where they only extended for one hour. Then after pressures from here and there, they then extended another hour and then right a 9 o’clock, they announced the end of the election. According to the law, till there is even one person remaining, they must continue to take the votes but the gentlemen closed the polling stations and they even kicked out those who were there to vote at 10 pm. Why?

One of the possible explanations could be the following: that if all the throngs of people who had been waiting from the morning through to the night, for the slips, had been able to vote, they would have been fearful that the votes would exceed those who were eligible. Meaning that all of a sudden 50 million votes would appear in the ballot boxes. How then could they explain that one away?...that were would these 50 million votes be from? When forty six million, two hundred thousand were eligible...how did it become 50 million? They would have had no explanation and had to put an end to the situation, announcing the end of the election. This is all a sign that an act of extensive engineering of the elections has taken place .

Then there is video footage of the people commenting on the voting and polling stations closing.

The first man says: “They closed the boxes at 9:30. I’ve come all the way here from Peeroozi (Avenue...) and everyone else here is in the same boat.”

Then a woman is heard saying: “Then they say people’s blood comes to a boil? What does that mean? They are the ones who cause a rebellion.”

The first man then says once again: “They’ve held people...and called for the special guard units to show up.”

A second man’s voice is heard saying: “Can there be a greater insult to the people?”

Then the first man says, yet again: “How long am I supposed to be held up here?”

A second woman says: “Look, they’ve come to beat us all up.”

And then back to Mohtashamipour

At 4 pm, Raja News, the presidential media organ has put out statistics and percentage points that then at midnight the Minister of the Interior and the Ministry of the Interior announced: 63% Ahmadinejad, 32% Mr. Mousavi and the rest of the percentages. How did they come up with this?

Then also at 11 p.m. Fars News Agency, before the counting even began and ended, announced that Mr. Ahmadinejad is the winner with the specified percentage. How did they know? Could it be that the engineering of the election, from the ballot standpoint, time and structuring occurred before the elections. Therefore these elections are fundamentally null and void.

The other apparent violation is that, based on the law, the representatives of the candidates must be present, at the ballot boxes, during the counting and tally of the votes...they should be present at the Ministry of the Interior’s location...the place where all the votes from throughout the country is accumulated. Why did you kick our representatives, the representatives of the candidates out? Why were 3 representatives of the candidates, representatives of Karoubi, Rezaei and Mousavi were barred from entering; but finally after their insistence you were forced to let them in and then, they were stuck there till 2:30 in the morning and still there were no numbers that had come into the location and yet they were seeing that the TV was announcing the votes via the Ministry of the Interior.

According to the law, the first place where the numbers can be seen is at the location and all under the supervision of the representatives of the candidates. And so these three individuals wrote a letter to Mr. Mahsooli, the Minister of the Interior (shows a copy of the letter), saying that here we are, at 2:30, 3 in the morning, and we have no news from anywhere, while the law clearly states that when the numbers start coming in from around the country, we should be here; we should look them over and then, the numbers are to be announced. Therefore, our presence here is pointless and we are leaving the Ministry of the Interior.

These are the matters that were engineered and so we communicated two or three points to the Guardian Council. First, the Guardian Council, by backing one candidate, has vacated its impartiality. The authority to supervise the election must be by an impartial and unbiased Guardian Council, not the Guardian Council that is a supporter of one of the candidates. You are therefore in actuality lacking legitimacy and this election that should have taken place with the presence of impartial observers, is actually illegitimate due to the presence of biased observers supporting one of the candidates, is null and void.
