v @nchvre Universities Allowed to Continue Political Activities If They Support the Regime

In my humble opinion, the statements made by the Minister of Science, Daneshjoo are hypocritical and insulting to say the least, given the numerous assaults, the unjust arrests, killings, beating and torture of University students in Iran over the past year. I decided to translate this article so that the world becomes aware of the hypocrisy of this illegitimate and unjust government. This is justice the Islamic Republic Style.

In a statement, Ali Reza Panahian, Head of the Think Tank assigned to Universities by the Supreme Leader said "The Islamic Republic's reputation is much more important than any blood shed resulting from injustice."

In addtion, in relation to the continued social and political activities within Universities, the Minister of Science stated " We will not allow the promotion of secularism and activities against Islam and the Islamic Republic inside universities."

This while in recent days pressure has mounted on student activists at Azad University, many of whom have been summoned to the disciplinary offices based on a variety of charges by the courts.

The office of Tahkim Vehdat, the only independent student organization at the university has also been under extreme pressure, with two of the main members having been incarcerated for months. Kamran Daneshjoo, Minister of Science stated: "We will not allow the promotion of secularism and activities against Islam and the Islamic Republic inside universities."

Daneshjoo added: "In general, student associations at universities are provided with a legitimate license. We are not sensitive to political activities. We only emphasize that all activities fall within the framework of the law."

According to Mehr News, in a meeting of the Central Supervisory Board for Student Activities, Daneshjoo stated: "Student associations are free to participate in cultural, social and political activities. We only ban those activities focused on promoting secularism and against Islam and the Islamic Republic. This ban is of course overwhelmingly desired by our brave and honorable people and is also supported by the those within the university."

The Minister of Science added: "Student groups are free to criticize and hold debate sessions on different schools of thoughts within the political spectrum and individuals with different political viewpoints can express their opinions to the students. However, alongside these debates, the opinions and thoughts of a variety of Islamic Scholars should also be presented so that they can explain the Islamic context and meaning of such debates."

Daneshjoo reiterated: "We must not limit student activities to just a few areas. In fact those student associations and groups that adhere to the Constitution, the Velayat-E-Faqih (Supremacy of the Jurist) and the foundations of the Islamic Republic, are free to continue with their activities."

In addition, Alireza Panahian, introduced as the Head of the University Think Tanks for the Supreme Leader's Office by Fars News stated: "The blood shed by one individual, no matter how unjust, is not comparable to the reputation of the Islamic Republic, stained by some people in the eyes of the world."
