Kouhyar Goodarzi sentenced to 1 year in jail

Kouhyar Goodarzi, member of the Committee of Human Rights Reporters in Iran was sentenced to 1 year imprisonment by the 26th branch of the Revolutionary Court.

According to RAHANA the court case for human rights activist, Kouhyar Goodarzi took place on the 12th of Khordad at the 26th branch of the Revolutionary Court under the supervision of Judge Pirabasi. Goodarzi was indicted of " 1) Propaganda activities against the regime, in collaboration with the Committee of Human Reporters website and 2) The gathering and publication of anti regime news and dissemination of this information to terrorist organization abroad 3) Interview with foreign media and 4) publication of statements in the aforementioned sites.

Goodarzi's mother requested that bail be accepted on behalf of her son, however, her request was rejected by the presiding judge. Previously a 70 million touman bail had been set for Goodarzi's release.

Kouhyar Goodarzi has spent close to 6 months in Evin prison. After criticizing the unacceptable behavior by the head of Ward 350 at Evin, Goodarzi was transferred to solitary confinement, where he began a dry hunger strike. He broke his hunger strike after his 4 demands were met.

This civic activist was arrested in the month of Aban (November) last year and expelled from the University of Sharif as a result of pressure from security forces.

کوهیار گودرزی، عضو کمیته گزارشگران حقوق بشر از سوی شعبه ۲۶ دادگاه انقلاب به یک سال حبس تعزیری محکوم شد.

رهانا: دادگاه این فعال حقوق بشر، ۱۲ خرداد در شعبه ۲۶ به قضاوت پیرعباسی برگزار شد.

به گزارش کمیته گزارشگران حقوق بشر، اتهامات گودرزی در این دادگاه، «فعالیت تبلیغی علیه نظام از طریق همکاری موثر با سایت کمیته گزارشگران حقوق بشر و جمع‌آوری و انتشار اخبار جهت دار علیه نظام و انتقال این اخبار به عناصر سازمان تروریستی مستقر در خارج از کشور و مصاحبه با رسانه‌‌های بیگانه و نیز انتشار مقاله در سایت‌ها» عنوان شده بود.

مادر این فعال حقوق بشر، درخواست تبدیل قرار وثیقه وی به کفالت را به قاضی پرونده ارائه داده اما با موافقت روبرو نشده است. پیش‌تر، قرار وثیقه ۷۰ میلیون تومانی برای گودرزی صادر شده بود.

کوهیار گودرزی، نزدیک به شش ماه است که در زندان اوین در بازداشت به سر می‌برد. وی چندی پیش پس از اعتراض به عمل کرد رئیس بند ۳۵۰ زندان اوین، به سلول انفرادی منتقل شده و دست به اعتصاب غذای خشک زده بود. در نهایت پس از دست‌یابی به چهار خواسته‌ی خود، اعتصاب غذا را شکست.

این فعال مدنی، در آبان ماه سال گذشته با فشار نیروهای امنیتی از دانشگاه صنعتی شریف اخراج شد.
