This is Rajai Shahr Prison (Karaj). You can read a good description of Rajai Shahr conditions, made by political prisoner Saeed Masouri, who's serving a life sentence there: http://persian2english.com/?p=13193 Please, read here a full list of political prisoners detained in Rajai Shahr: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=441958862867&id=352567002739 I will just mention some of them, please feel free to add names and links to help. AHMAD ZEIDABADI, a journalist, a political analyst and the secretary of Advar Tahkim Vahdat. In jail since June 13 2009, sentenced to 6 years od prison, 5 of exile and a lifetime ban from all political and social activities. Please look at this note of Negs Ir to help him: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1241711&id=1541730738&ref=fbx_album#!/note.php?note_id=10150245765285131 and sign this petition - still few signatures, unbelieavable - http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/free-journalist-ahmad-zeid-abadi.html SHARE AND SPREAD both of them. ISA SAHARKHIZ, a journalist, and the former head of Interior Publications at Ershad Minister (under Kathami's administration). He's been arrested on July 4 2009 and, as far as I'm concerned, there is still no sentence against him, yet he remains in jail and his health conditions are very worrying, as he's now using a weelchair to move. Please, read here to help: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=105220642864203&ref=ts Join the group: http://www.facebook.com/isasaharkhiz?ref=ts and sign this petition http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/release-issa-saharkhiz.html MASOUD BASTANI, a journalist too, arrested on July 5 2009, has been sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment. A few weeks ago his wif Mahsa Amrabadi ask for him a prison leave because of a serious infection: http://www.iranhumanrights.org/2010/08/mahsa-amrabadi-demands-prison-leave-fo... We have no petition for him, but you can join this page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/free-Masoud-Bastani/114054171940131?ref=ts and if you read Farsi you can read this blog http://masoudbastani.blogspot.com/ MANSOUR OSANLOO, a bus workers leader, far back persecuted, detained, tortuired by the regime because of his trade union activities. You can read his mother's interview (released just a few days ago), here: http://persian2english.com/?p=14037 Mansour is serving a 5 years sentence, but recently one more year has been added to his previous sentence. This is the page of an old campaign for Mansour carried out by International Transport Workers' Federation: http://www.itfglobal.org/campaigns/freeosanloo.cfm/ Here is a short video about his story: For Farsi peaking people, this is an old video where Mansour talked about how he was tortured. Mansour has been repeatedly attaccked by thugs in prison and his family too has been several times attacked and threatened. BEHROUZ JAVID TEHRANI, a former student activist, is the only student partecipating the 1999 uprising who still is in prison. You can join this page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Free-Behrouz-Javid-Tehrani-bhrwz-jawyd-thrany-r... About Behrouz, Sarah Leah Whitson, the Middle East director for Human Rights Watch, wrote: "Behrooz Javid-Tehrani, who is critically ill, is in prison for his peaceful political dissent and his human rights advocacy. He should never have been imprisoned in the first place and he should be released at once or he will likely die in prison." Yet he's spent more than 10 years in prison. He 's been tortured during interrogatories and his healh is really poor. Please, sign and spread this petition to help Behrouz: http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/free-behrouz-javid-tehran.html
