Condolences from Dr Ali Mohammadi Students Abroad

A group of the martyred professor Dr. Alimohammadi’s students currently studying abroad have issued a statement to condemn his assassination, which is following:

In the name of god

For over six months now, we who are away from our motherland, have been painfully witnessing day after day a horrific range of excruciating news, stretching from beating, harassing and detention of our fellow students to the gruesome shedding of blood of our professor. We were drowned in deep sorrow by the foul and cowardly assassination of our intellectual and progressive professor, Dr. Masoud Alimohammadi. It is so evident that besides the baseness, treason and ignorance of the perpetrators of this terror, which is clear to everyone, the paroxysm of the current situation in Iran has made our scientific and academic society susceptible to such a catastrophic loss, and has been a factor allowing for the execution of this heinous plan.

Alas, that in our country life-long perseverance in research and education in theoretical physics, a cutting edge branch of science, which undoubtedly requires not only long term solid determination in pursuit of science but also a brilliant inherent talent, can end so tragically like this. Of course, the scope and depth of this catastrophic loss is beyond the understanding of the narrow-minded, malicious and self-centered individuals who caused this tragedy.

Expressing our deep condolences to the family and survivors of the late professor, we would like to extend our sincere and deepest sympathy to the scientific community in Iran and particularly to our professors and classmates in the College of Physics at the University of Tehran. We reassure you that we will persist in demanding unremitting investigation of this impudent act and its perpetrators and in doing so we will not hesitate to offer everything that we can to help and support our honorable classmates and professors in Iran to obtain justice. The color of our blood is no different than that of our late professor’s.
